Frequently Asked Questions:
About Us
Who is Wedge Worldwide?
Wedge Worldwide is an online retail storefront that carries a vast array of earth-friendly products available for purchase to our expanding customer base. Our aim is to empower our shoppers so they are able to make lifestyle choices that support their well-being, their health and the health of our planet.
Wedge Worldwide is a branch of our member-owned brick and mortar store: the Wedge Co-op, a natural food store in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our website and store are available to all shoppers- you do not need to be a co-op member in order to buy from us. The Wedge Co-op was opened in November of 1974 and was the first certified organic store in Minnesota. Over the last three decades, the Wedge Co-op has been an advocate for organics, fair trade and consumer health issues, and has promoted education about food and environmental responsibility. A percentage of the Wedge Co-op's profits is regularly donated to worthy causes through the WedgeShare Program. Further, we have undertaken our own Fair Trade Program. Learn more about the Wedge Co-op.
What is the difference between the Wedge and Wedge Worldwide?
Wedge Worldwide is a department of the Wedge Co-op, so there are more similarities than differences. Wedge Worldwide is an extension of the Health & Body Care and General Merchandise departments allowing availability of high quality products to a more extensive audience, as well as dedicated Wedge customers and members.
Can't I just buy the same products at the Wedge since I live a few blocks away from it?
The Wedge Co-op and Wedge Worldwide do have some similarities in inventories. Wedge Worldwide is an extension of the Wedge Co-op's general merchandise. Since space is limited at the brick and mortar store, the inventory changes quickly and frequently. The website allows us to carry similar products that our customers love and also products that are not possible to stock in the retail location.
Do you have a eNewsletter? How can I sign up?
Yes, we do have an eNewsletter that we deliver via email bi-monthly. At the bottom of every page on our website, you can find a place to sign up for our eNewsletter. Just enter your email address into the white box and look forward to receiving your first Wedge Worldwide eNewsletter.
You can also find an archive of our eNewsletter by clicking on the blue eNewsletter Archive button on the footer bar at the bottom of each webpage.
Do I need to be a member of the Wedge Co-op in order to shop on Wedge Worldwide?
No, our website is open and available to all customers within the United States and Canada.
If I am a member of the brick and mortar Wedge Co-op store, is my purchase on Wedge Worldwide applied towards my patronage refund?
Yes, if you are a member of the Wedge Co-op, your online purchases count towards your total member purchases. The Wedge Co-op's website has more information about patronage refunds.
How can I become a member of the Wedge Co-op?
See the Wedge Co-op's website for information on joining the Wedge Co-op (physical location).
Products/Vendors
How do you select the products for your website?
The general merchandise products we offer reflect our buying-philosophy and our dedication to:
Eco-Friendly & Natural Products - We continuously work towards providing beautiful and unique environmentally-friendly products and gifts that have a small ecological footprint. Wedge Worldwide features a wide selection of natural and sustainable items such as earth-friendly clothing, recycled glassware, locally-made merchandise, hemp products, bamboo kitchenware, bedding, baby products, personal care items, natural supplements and carefully chosen decorative and gift items.
Organics - The Wedge Co-op has been a large supporter of the organic movement for many years and are members of the Organic Trade Association (OTA). Our membership is through the National Cooperative Grocers Association (NCGA). We currently offer bedding, towels, clothing and accessories, body care products, coffee and tea, all made with organic materials.
Fair Trade - We make a concerted effort to locate and offer a wide variety of high quality fair trade items. Two important aspects of fair trade are that workers who produce an item are paid a living wage for their craft and work under safe working conditions. Some of the vendors we buy from are members of the Fair Trade Federation (FTF). Other companies that we work with, who are not FTF members, pledge to practice various aspects of one or more fair trade standards. Product icons located under each product description on our website give more detailed information about many of our items.
Social Responsibility - Several of our vendors donate a percentage of their profits to worthy causes and organizations that support the environment and other charitable interests. Vendors who make these donations are noted under their product's description. The Wedge Co-op, as an organization, makes annual donations to nonsectarian, nonpartisan organizations and events as well as being a regular contributor to local food shelves.
Locally-Made - We love to carry items created by talented artists and skilled vendors from our region. Buying locally helps support our community and saves on the amount of fossil fuels used in delivering merchandise.
Recycled - Many items we carry are made from beautiful recycled glass, post-consumer plastic and other reused materials. At Wedge Worldwide, we always strive to use earth-friendly materials in our business operations and use recycled packing material whenever possible. For example, when we use styrofoam packing peanuts, these were not bought new, but are being reused from previous packaging. Further, our gift boxes and gift tissue are made from recycled cardboard and paper.
Customer's needs determine the kinds of products we carry and the direction our business will take. We remain rooted in our founding values while addressing emerging developments such as fair trade, local purchasing and a variety of sustainability questions.

How quickly will my package ship? How long should I expect it to take to get my package?
Most orders will ship within 1-2 business days after you have placed the order. The amount of time it takes your package to get to you once it is shipped depends on a few factors. For example shipping type (Standard versus Priority Shipping), where the package is going, when the order is placed, et cetera. Check out our Shipping Policy for more information regarding shipping costs and estimated time lines for delivery.
